Get Connected

To connect to the OSU Wireless Network, you'll need:

  • Device running: Windows (10/8/7/Vista), Mac OSX 10.5 or newer, Apple iOS, Android, Fire OS, or Windows Mobile
  • NOTE: if your device does not use the above-operating systems (such as a Smart TV or Xbox One), navigate to and follow the instructions to connect to WiFi@OSU
  • Your OSU username and password - to activate or change your OSU username and password, go to 
  1. Connect to WiFi@OSU then open a browser and navigate to a secure OSU website (e.g., to get to the network selection page
  2. Select Secure Network Access 
  3. Follow the steps to download and run the Aruba wireless configuration utility for your operating system
  4. When prompted, you should enter your OSU username and password
  5. Disconnect from WiFi@OSU and connect to OSUwireless (if not already done by the utility)

If your device is on campus and is connected to an OSU network:

  1. Open a web browser
  2. Browse to
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions

If your device is on campus (excluding OSU Wexner Medical Center) but NOT connected to a network:

  1. Connect to the WiFi@OSU wireless network

  2. Open a web browser
  3. Attempt to browse to a website, such as
    You will be redirected to the "OSU Network Access" captive portal page
  4. Click on Secure Network Access for Students, Faculty and Staff.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions

Every time you change our password at, you will need to reconfigure your computing device and enter your new password using the steps above. 

To connect to ResNet Wired Network, you'll need:

  • A device with an Ethernet-enabled network card (virus-free with current system updates)
  • A CAT-5 Ethernet or better network cable and a live Ethernet wall jack
  • Your OSU username and password - to activate or change your OSU username and password, go to
  1. In a browser on a device connected to the internet, navigate to
  2. Sign in with your OSU credentials
  3. Enter your device's wired MAC address in the colon format (A1:B2:C3:D4:E5:F6) and then click Submit
  4. Disconnect at the ethernet wall jack and restart the device
  5. After 15 minutes, reconnect your device at the ethernet wall jack. 

Failure to allow 15 minutes before reconnecting device will result in a further delay in obtaining internet access.

You will only need to register your device once every academic year.
