How do I connect my wireless printer?

July 1, 2019

Before Your Begin

Please take some time to review your printer's user manual so familiar with the wireless connection process. Instructions can widely vary from model to model, even among the same manufacturer.

Register Your Printer

Network printers are only supported on the Registered4OSU wireless network. Register your printer so it can get online:

  1. Determine the wireless MAC address of your device.
  2. Login to the Device Registration Portal from a computer, smartphone or tablet connected to an Ohio State network.
  3. Select Register a new device from the list of "Helpful Links" then fill out and submit the form.
  4. Check your email for the Wi-Fi password required to connect your device.
  5. When prompted, connect to the Registered4OSU wireless network using the Wi-Fi password provided in the email.

Connect Your Computer to the eduroam Network

Your computer must be connected to the eduroam wireless network to be able to print to your printer:

  1. Connect to the WiFi@OSU network. A login page should automatically open.
  2. Click on Connect to eduroam on the login page. (If the login page does launch automatically, open a web browser and go to wireless.osu.edu to be redirected to the login page.)

Complete printer setup

Follow the instructions in your user manual to complete setup.
